ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seal
What Is It?
If you have arrived at this page because you have seen one of our
ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seals displayed on the website of a ClickBank
merchant, and you want to learn more about the seal, then you have come to the right place.
our 4 star seal

our 5 star seal

These seals are awarded on the basis of the consumer ratings that are submitted to
ClickBankHotshots.com along with each consumer review of a merchant offering. What makes
these seals so valuable to prospective customers (and thus to merchants) is that they
cannot be purchased by a merchant. They really are Product Quality Seals.
The fact that these seals are free but extemely difficult to obtain is in
stark contrast to the quality seal offered by, for example, the Better Entrepreneurs Bureau,
which simply requires an annual payment from the merchant in order to display their seal,
or the HONESTeOline quality seal (a required monthly payment), or the iCop
seal (another monthly fee). None of these seals imply that the merchant's offerings have been
reviewed in any sense by the entity awarding the quality seal. In fact, these seals merely
tell you that the merchant has agreed to have the awarding entity accept complaints about
unethical practices that may be lodged against the merchant by consumers. You'll find another
example at the bottom of this page--a Guardian seal ($37.99 for 2 years, and worth
every penny, even though ClickBank Hotshots sells absolutely nothing! It is in fact
a privacy seal, though you would not know it to look at it).
Hopefully the point has been made that these seals say nothing at all about the quality of
the products the merchant is selling. Anyone willing to open their wallet can have such a seal.
This is not to say those seals are worthless--but they are far more helpful to the merchant
than the consumer.
This is what makes the ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seal so prestigious. Only those
ClickBank merchants whose product has achieved an average consumer rating of
3.75 out of 5.00 or higher are eligible to display one of our Quality Seals on their site.
Therefore, if you see one of these seals on a merchant site you can be fairly sure you will not
be disappointed with their offering--the online community has judged it as exceptional
or outstanding (products which have earned an average consumer rating of
4.5 out of 5.00 or higher are awarded the rare 5-star seal). A minimum of
20 reviews
are necessary before an average rating can be accurately determined and a seal displayed.
Therefore, any site that displays either the 4-star or 5-star seal is definitely worthy
of your attention.
What About Merchants That Display No Quality Seal?
If a merchant does not carry the ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seal, or a button encouraging
their customers to rate the offering on ClickBank Hotshots the reason may be one of the following:
- The merchant is simply unaware of the ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seal Program.
In this case you might wish to do them a favor and refer them to our page on the
ClickBank Hotshots Quality Seal Program. Quality Seals benefit both consumers
and merchants who offer quality goods, and it costs the merchant nothing to join our
Quality Seal Program.
- The merchant does not believe in the value of Quality Seals for consumers.
They believe that you should take their word for it when they say their product
is the best one on the market. Some of the most popular products in the ClickBank
marketplace are offered by merchants who hold this view.
- The merchant does not believe their offering is likely to achieve a rating of
at least 3.75 out of 5.00 on ClickBank Hotshots, and therefore does not wish to
draw attention to the fact.
Summary
It is important to realize that when a merchant does not display a Quality Seal it does
not follow that their offering is substandard. But it certainly helps consumers when they do.
The purpose of a seal is to help consumers identify the very best digital products on the web.
Of course, all legitimate merchants would, it is hoped, agree that this is a good thing for
both them and their potential customers.
